The yesterday's raids came in cooperation between the army and police to confront terrorism in the restive Governorate of North Sinai, Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohamed Samir said today.
Samir had yesterday told media that 10 militants were killed and 54 others arrested in North Sinai during military raids on November 13 and 14.
North Sinai has been the scene of many violent attacks by Islamist militants since the 2011 Egyptian revolution that ousted former dictator Hosni Mubarak.
The attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi last year.
The army has launched security campaigns in the area, arrested suspects and demolished houses that belong to terrorists, including facilitating tunnels leading to the Gaza Strip.
