Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy's warning came in the Legislative Council in the backdrop of two bus fire mishaps in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka last month that left 52 dead.
Forty five people had perished in Andhra Pradesh's Mahabubnagar district when a Volvo bus from Bangalore to Hyderabad hit the median on the NH and caught fire.
In a similar mishap, seven persons were charred to death and 40 others injured after a Mumbai-bound Volvo bus from Bangalore hit a road median and caught fire.
On steps being taken by government to check violations, he said the department has booked bus operators for illegal loading of commercial goods and passengers. "The department has also been conducting regular checks for last one month."
He also said the operators have been told to maintain trip sheets.
