At least three militant commanders from the Swat Valley have been killed in a clash between Pakistani and Afghan Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, according to a media report today.
Some reports suggested that Mullah Fazlullah, the erstwhile leader of the Taliban in Swat, was among the dead but this was denied by the militants.
Dozens of Afghan Taliban fighters armed with heavy weapons attacked the Pakistani Taliban in Ghaziabad area of Afghanistan's Kunar province on Tuesday morning, BBC Urdu reported.
At least three Pakistani Taliban commanders from Swat were killed and several others injured in the clash, the report said.
The Pakistani Taliban confirmed the clash but denied that any commanders were killed. They strongly denied reports that Fazlullah was either injured or killed in the clashes.
Fazlullah, also known as Mullah Radio for his fiery sermons broadcast on an illegal FM channel, had fled to Kunar province when the Pakistan Army launched an operation against his group in Swat in 2009.

Over the past few years, Fazlullah's fighters have launched several attacks within Pakistan. His group had claimed responsibility for last year's bid to assassinate teenage rights activist Malala Yousafzai.
Recently, the Taliban released a video that showed Fazlullah claiming responsibility for the bomb attack that killed Maj Gen Sanaullah Niazi in Upper Dir region.
There have been no reports in the past of differences between the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban, which have usually had good relations.
