3 prisoners escape from MP jail

Three prisoners escaped from the district jail here after scaling a 20-feet high wall, police said today.
The prisoners identified as Narottam Neti (28) and Ajay Lal (21), both undergoing 10 years imprisonment and an undertrial inmate, Veeru Virendra, accused of murder and criminal conspiracy, escaped last evening, Jail Superintendent V K Kudape said.
He said the conduct of all the three inmates was found satisfactory following which they were deputed for cleaning the jail corridor adjacent to the wall.
Taking advantage of the situation, they scaled the wall and escaped, he said.
The chief jail warden noticed that they were missing from the jail in the evening following which he alerted the jail superintendent.
Later police was informed about the incident following which a report was filed in the Mandla Police Station and hunt was launched to nab them.
Balaghat Range Inspector General (IG), D C Sagar announced a reward of Rs 30,000 each for those who provide information leading to their arrest.
Three jail employees identified as Satish Shrivastava, Sanjay Tiwari and Ishwardas were suspended on charges of negligence in duties in this regard, the jail superintendent said.
