3 rescued, five missing after dhow sinks

Three persons were rescued and five went missing after a cargo-laden dhow sank off Parapanangadi in the Arabian Sea today, Coast Guard said.
The dhow 'Arul Seeli' was enroute Lakshadweep islands from Beyporewith with eight-member crew when it sank 24 nautical miles off the coast after developing a leak, they said.
The three persons were rescued and have been hospitalised.
The Coast Guard is continuing search operations to trace the missing persons, they said.
