According to police, the trio had left their homes in Nashik without intimating their parents and came to Thane just for fun. They were reunited with their families late last night.
"Last evening around 7.30 PM, these three visibly panicked boys came to the traffic outpost near Thane station, seeking the help of the constable on duty. They told the police that they had been abducted from Ashok Nagar in Nashik and were brought to Thane in a white car by kidnappers," DCP Traffic Dr Rashmi Karandikar said.
Believing their version, the policeman on duty alerted the police control room and went to the location to check for the said white car, but did not find any such vehicle there.
Meanwhile, Karandikar received the message about the case and rushed to the scene.
