3 security personnel killed, 6 injured in blasts in Pak

Three security personnel, guarding a polio vaccination team, were killed and six others injured today in twin blasts in northwest Pakistan.
According to Assistant political agent of Khyber Agency, Jhangir Wazir, polio vaccination workers were carrying out duties in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency when two blasts occurred.
A vehicle carrying security personnel was completely destroyed while another was partially damaged.
The deceased and injured Khasadar force personnel were shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar, while security forces rushed to spot.
The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.
Meanwhile, the 5th phase of anti-polio drive 'Sehat ka Insaf' kicked off in the provincial capital today amid tight security.

The district administration has imposed Section 144 CrPC banning motorcycle riding in the city to provide security for the campaign.
Nearly 4,500 security personnel including police, Frontier Constabulary and reserve police personnel have been deployed to provide security.
