Security sources today said the exchange of fire took place in Yari Khel area of Baizai Tehsil in Mohmand Agency.
Mohmand Agency is one of Pakistan's seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border and are said to be strongholds of Taliban and al-Qaeda elements.
