"Counter intelligence wing of Punjab police has busted a terrorist module in which terrorists sitting abroad have instigated and inducted a few men from the state to launch anti-national, disruptive activities," Inspector General Counter Intelligence M F Farooqui said here.
Acting on confidential information, police arrested Gurpal Singh, Major Singh and Rachhpal Singh after search operations at different places, he said.
Police also seized two pistols of 9 MM and 30 bore along with magazines and 16 live cartridges from their possession.
The accused were in touch with some wanted terrorists based in Belgium, England and Pakistan and tasked with reviving militancy in Punjab, Farooqui claimed.
He said the accused were working at the behest of wanted terrorists Jagdish Singh alias Bhoora based in Belgium, Kuldeep Singh alias Keepa Sidhu, Jasbir Singh alias Jassi both from England, Ranjit Singh alias Neeta from Pakistan and other members of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF).
Punjab police is working to crack the case of murderous attack on RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja in Jalandhar, Farooqui said, adding police have already announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh and a Sub-Inspector rank post to the graduate and constable's tab to the undergraduate person whose information will lead to the arrest of the assailants.
