3 top officials among 14 injured in two road mishaps in Jammu

Three top officers of the public health and engineering (PHE) department were amongst the 14 people who were injured in two road mishaps across Jammu region today.
A vehicle that was part of the cavalcade of the state minister for PHE, Sukhanandan Chowdhary and was carrying three senior officials of the department skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jandrali area on the Bani Basoli road in the Kathua district today, a police officer said.
He said that three senior officials including, Executive Engineer PHE, Sumit Puri, Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood control, Ved Prakash and Superintendent Engineer, Ashok Gandotra were seriously injured in the accident, he said.
He said that all the three injured officials were airlifted to Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Jammu for treatment.
Meanwhile in another accident, 11 passengers were injured when a bus they were travelling in collided with a truck coming from opposite direction in the Chenani area of Udhampur district.
The injured have been shifted to the District Hospital Udhampur for treatment, the officer said.
