3 women held for bid to smuggle liquor

Three women were today arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle liquor bottles from here to Villupuram by a passenger train.
Acting on a tip-off, the personnel of the RPF led by Sub- Inspector Manimaran combed the compartments and found three women passengers hailing from Tirukoilur were having in their possession three bags containing liquor bottles.
Police arrested them and handed them over to the Department of Excise and the liquor was also handed to the excise authorities for further action.
