"As per the statement given by the injured men, they were trying to avert hitting a motorcycle which suddenly came in their way resulting in the mishap," said Sub-Inspector Sukhjinder Singh, the SHO in-charge.
He said the deceased hailed from Punjab.
The two injured were admitted to a hospital, he said.
Police said the three women and the two injured were in the age group of 21-24 years.
