At least 20 goats and 10 domestic dogs were allegedly taken away by leopard from three villages in and around Masinagudi under Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, in Nilgiris District, police said today.
Villagers of Kurumbaparai, Laxminagar and a tribal hamlet found the goats and dogs missing from their houses when they got up in the morning, they said.
The villagers found the remains like heads, legs and skin of goats on the branches of small trees in the area, suspecting the handiwork of leopard or tiger moving around in the Reserve, they said.
Carcasses of seven goats were recovered, they said.
