Thirty gold biscuits worth Rs 1.14 crore were seized from a flight at the Chandigarh International Airport on Tuesday, customs official said.
The recovery was made during the rummaging of the flight which had arrived from Dubai, they said.
The gold biscuits, which weighed around 3,500 gram, were wrapped in three black colour adhesive tapes concealed in the cavity adjoining a passenger seat, the officials said.
They said the recovered gold has been seized as unclaimed under the Customs Act, 1962, and further investigation is underway.
