30 more children reunited with families under Operation Milap

Thirty more missing children have been reunited with their families by Delhi police in the last two months under Operation Milap.
13 missing children have been restored to their families recently by the Crime Branch police which have so far reunited 155 missing children with their parents as part of the operation.
These children were admitted to various children homes in Jahangirpuri, Tis Hazari and Rohini.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Yadav said police officials check each and every child in the children homes and make all out efforts to get any clue about their parents or home so that they can be restored promptly.

The Anti Human trafficking Unit of East Delhi police has also reunited 17 children with their families under Operation Milap in the last two months, said Additional DCP, East district police, Surender Kumar.
In the last week itself, six children, including two girls, staying at children homes in Shahdara and GTB Enclave were restored to their families, he said.

Most of these children belonged to Bihar, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal and had been admitted to children homes by police and NGO representatives in the past several months, he added.
The police officials scrutinise the records of children homes and figure out inmates whose details are incomplete or sketchy. These children are then taken into confidence and persuaded to reveal clues about their native places, he said.

On the basis of the minor clues and details provided by them, their parents were contacted either through telephone, personal visit or local police stations, said the officer.
The local police of all the districts in Delhi have been asked to screen and document all the children residing in the shelter homes, railway platforms, bus stands, roads, religious places. Their photographs are taken by the concerned police officials and documentation is undertaken to make efforts to reunite them with their families, he added.
'Operation Milap' was launched in December by Delhi police with an aim to trace missing children and restore them to their families.
