Raj closed the doors of the AC bus and drove it straight to the nearest police station even as the robbers rained innumerous blows on him. Undeterred by the assault, he got four of the assailants nabbed with the help of two policemen.
The 30-year-old driver is one of the 30 good Samaritans who were awarded by Delhi Police here today. The 30 people included eight women who took on criminals in everyday life, saving not just themselves but even others in life or death situations.
Honoring the brave hearts, which included people from all walks of life and of all ages, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said that their effort is priceless and thanked them.
The function saw a number of stories of courage and grit and some of the most inspiring ones involved women.

"My chain was snatched by two bikers in Tilak Nagar area from the service lane. I followed them in an auto. When the auto got stuck in jam, I took a lift from an uncle on his scooty and followed them and noted down the number of the bike. We then went straight to the nearby police station where the bike was tracked within five minutes through its number and the snatchers were caught," said Kaur told PTI.
Similarly a 25-year-old youth caught a notorious snatcher who was wanted in 43 such cases.
