300 booked for clash between two communities in Ghaziabad

Police today booked 300 persons, including 23 identified accused, in connection with the clash between members of two communities over the use of loudspeakers during a religious function in Farid Nagar area here, police said.
FIR was registered against 300 people which also names 23 identified accused. Efforts are on to nab the identified accused allegedly involved in the incident, police said.
At least five persons including a policeman were injured in the clash which occurred yesterday evening. Later, a jewellery shop was also looted by unidentified persons, further fuelling tension in Farid Nagar area, about 8 km from Modi Nagar.
An argument started when members of a community objected to use of loudspeakers during the proceedings at a religious site of another community, which is situated in front of their place of worship, police said.
The argument led to clash between members of the two communities. Many vehicles were set afire, they said.
"Around 4-5 persons were injured in the incident. One policeman also sustained injury. They suffered minor injuries," police said.
