The decision was taken at a meeting of a sub-committee of ministers formed by the state government to assess the scarcity situation. The sub-committee is headed by the Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.
So far, 1,115 villages across Gujarat have been declared as 'partially scarcity-hit'.
According to the government, adequate measures are being taken to provide water and cattle-fodder in these areas.
As many as 1,381 villages are getting water by tankers.
In addition, Rajkot city and some parts of Porbandar, Devbhoomi-Dwarka and Jamnagar districts would get additional 30 MLD of water from today, said Chudasama after the meeting.
