32 arrested for running gambling racket

Kolkata Police today arrested 32 people, including officials of a club located in the southern parts of the city, for their alleged involvement in running a gambling racket under the guise of poker.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Shakespeare Sarani police station raided a prominent club on Camac Street and arrested 32 people for allegedly running the gambling racket.
"Those arrested include the partners of the club, players, card dealers and the manager," a senior official of Kolkata Police said.
The police recovered cash amounting to Rs 6.5 lakh and several 'chips' amounting to Rs 55 lakh of the print value of Rs 1,000 to Rs 200, besides some transaction-related documents.
