"The Railways Women's Welfare Central Organisation (RWWCO) has always risen to the occasion, whenever there has been a need, be it an act of environmental concern or a national calamity, an issue where compassion and help is immediately required," Mittal said here at the RWWCO felicitation function here.
RWWCO, which paid particular attention on betterment of women of the vast Railway family and their children, felicitated 32 women railway employees for their outstanding performances.
"What makes their task special is that they have achieved all this along with their responsibilities as a home-maker and without any financial support from the government," Mittal said.
RWWCO is the apex body of the chain of women's welfare organisation spread over all India engaged in the task of welfare of railwaymen and their families through various need-based welfare activities.
"Our motto is to promote and encourage welfare activities to foster a spirit of friendship, unity and understanding among railway employees and their families," Chairperson of RWWCO, Poonam Mittal said.
She said the organisation has dedicated its service to the entire nation and not just for railway families.
