The victim, identified as Gaurav Chauhan, used to supply uninterrupted power to shopkeepers through private generators, police said.
He was informed this morning that three persons were disconnecting his generator wire, they said, adding, Chauhan rushed to the spot and objected to it.
"At this time, the miscreants fired at him from a close range and at least two bullets hit his head," Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Sangeeta Kalia said.
The assailants, identified as Sachin, Monu, and Veenu alias Beenu fled from the spot, the DCP said.

Chauhan and the three assailants hail from the adjoining Jhajjar district and old enmity between them could be the reason behind the incident, Kalia said.
Chauhan had a criminal record, including murder charges, on his name, DCP said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said adding, efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
