The juveniles lodged in Sewa Kutir in Mukherjee Nagar area of North West Delhi pelted stones, exploded cylinders, smashed window panes and set the Superintendent's office on fire.
Before fleeing from the home, they allegedly broke open the cash chest and took away around Rs 35,000.
"The incident started yesterday evening when a group of six minors started demanding that drugs be given to them. When efforts to pacify them failed, they were joined by others and gradually their number swelled to 50. All of them started the ruckus inside the home," staff members at the observation home said.
They then went into the kitchen and took out supplies and the cylinders. They burnt the cylinders and set all gates leading to the main area on fire.
