33 under-construction bldgs penalised for NGT norm violation

As many has 33 under-construction building in east Delhi have been challaned by the EDMC for allegedly violating air pollution norms under the National Green Tribunal guidelines.
"The fine amounts to Rs 50,000 for air pollution and if the offender fails to pay it, then he would have to appear before the NGT," the EDMC today said.
All the fines were imposed yesterday by a team from the Building Department of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation's Shahdara (South) Zone.
Among the under-construction properties challaned include, two CNG stations in Trilokpuri, properties in Pandav Nagar and Bank Enclave.
"Ten challans were issued in Ward No 225 in areas like Surajmal Vihar, Jagruti Enclave, Ram Vihar, among others, nine challans in Ward No 228 and two in Ward No 238," it said.
