33-year-old youth hangs himself in Ghaziabad

A 33-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan inside his rented flat in Abhay Khand colony of Indirapuram here, police said today.
Ajit lived here along with his three friends and was employed with a private company in Noida. His friends had gone to their native places on the eve of Diwali, they said.
When the friends returned yesterday, they found the main gate bolted from inside.
After repeated knocking, they broke opened the gate and found Ajit hanging from the ceiling fan.
They immediately informed the police. The reason for taking the extreme step was unclear as no suicide note was recovered from his possession, police said.

The body has been sent for postmortem and an FIR has been registered in this matter, police said, adding that a probe is underway in the case.
