Besides this, 50 per cent of state police force, Armed Police, Indian Reserve Police (IRP) will be deployed for security of rallies, contestants, sanitising operations, area dominations and guarding vulnerable areas, a senior police officer told PTI today.
To ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Umang Narula today chaired a meeting to review the security preparedness.
Special Director General of Police K Rajendra, who is Police Nodal Officer for the state, was also present in the meeting.
The issues of mobilisation and district-wise deployment of Central Armed Paramilitary Force (CAPF) and State Armed Police (SAP) were discussed in detail during the meeting.
The CEO said, of the state's 9,633 polling stations, 4,059 have been declared as "critical". The critical polling stations are situated at 3,461 locations.
Accommodation for para military forces coming from outside for election duties were also discussed in the meeting.
