A mob of around 200 people, carrying weapons, ransacked the Marredpally police station last Monday. Five officers, including two sub-inspectors, were injured in the attack.
The attackers also torched a bike, record books and some other articles, alleging that police were responsible for the death of an auto driver named G Bannappa a day before.
Central Crime Station probed the incident of vandalism and arrested the main accused Ganta Raju and 34 others today.
"Of the 101 identified culprits who participated in the attack, 35 were arrested and produced before a local court," said Joint Commissioner of police T Prabhakar Rao.
Some of the arrested men had grudge against the police because of the criminal cases registered against them in the past, and they instigated others, Rao said.
Auto driver Bannappa, detained by police for creating nuisance in a drunken condition, died a few hours after he was released. Police have lodged a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
