Ralte said that arrangements were made for the repatriation of 149 families lodged in Kaskau relief camp, but only six families returned yesterday due to reported intimidation by anti-repatriation elements in the relief camps.
He said that preparations would be made for the return of 811 people belonging to 153 families from Khakchangpara relief camp on May 8, the third day of repatriation as there might be some refugees willing to be brought back to Mizoram.
Earlier on April 26, only one family, out of 141 Bru (who are called Reang in Tripura) families expected to return from Hamsapara relief camp, came back to Mizoram.
Bru women leaders, on that day, staged a rally demanding a separate autonomous district council for the Bru community in Mizoram and many other demands were also made.
