The number of dengue patients in Bhanwar village of the district has now reached 37, though no fresh case has been reported.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) R P Singh Yadav claimed that the situation in Bhanwar is improving and the new persons tested positive for dengue are from the existing batch of patients who were initially admitted for viral fever.
He said that there are now 37 dengue patients admitted to the various hospitals and health centres.
The number of persons with viral fever is nine and they are being treated by a team of doctors in the village itself, the CMO said.
As a precautionary measure, a team of about 12 doctors is still camping in the village, Yadav said.
The massive cleanliness drive was still on and disinfectants were being sprayed in the village, he said.
A few days ago 550 people from Bhanwar village in Ghatampur tehsil were admitted to various medical centres with viral fever. Though most of them were discharged later, but the incident had sparked concern among the health officials.
