37 lakh farmers to get soil health cards in C'garh

As many as 37 lakh farmers of Chhattisgarh will receive soil health cards for their land, Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said today.
So far 2.95 lakh farmers were issued the soil health cards while around 9.50 lakh farmers would be covered in next three years and gradually all farmers would be benefited, the minister said in a statement here.
After testing the samples of soil from different regions, cards will be issued, Agrawal said emphasising on its importance.
The cards will have technical and other key information regarding cultivation of the land concerned and details of type of soil and the proper crops to be cultivated in it, he said.
