398 cartons of liquor seized in UP, one arrested: Police
Press Trust of India Muzaffarnagar A truck driver has been arrested after 398 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth several lakhs of rupees were allegedly found being smuggled in the vehicle from Panipat in neighbouring Haryana to Uttar Pradesh, police said today.
Naresh, the driver and a resident of Yamuna Nagar, was arrested yesterday at Yamuna bridge checkpost in Kairana of Shamli district, they said.
His truck allegedly carrying 398 cartons of IMFL was impounded by the Excise Department officials, police said.
An investigation is on in the matter, they added.
