A Spanish national was among four people killed in a landslide on the popular Manaslu trekking route in Nepal, authorities said today.
Four foreigners, including a woman, were also injured in the landslide. The injured have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment, The Himalayan Nation reported.
A Spanish national, a mountaineering guide and two other Nepalese were killed, according to Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta.
Two police teams have been deployed in Keramja village of Gorkha district to rescue the injured. However, the continuous landslide has made it difficult to dig out the bodies, Bhatta added.
Efforts are on to airlift the injured to Kathmandu for treatment, he said.
In July, 64 people were killed as floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains wreaked havoc in Nepal displacing thousands of people.
