4 die in rain related incidents in Himachal Pradesh

Incessant heavy rains and flash floods wreaked havoc in Mandi, Hamirpur and parts of Kangra district, leaving four people dead and a trail of destruction.
Vital bailey bridge over Sheer Khud at Jahoo, linking the Hamirpur and Mandi district was washed away in flash floods while three persons were swept away in it.
A body has been recovered while two persons are still missing.
A woman, identified as Maya Devi, was buried in the debris after a cowshed collapsed in Longroo village in Mandi. In Suket Khud, Water entered the show-rooms of automobile companies causing damage to property.
Several places in the mid and lower hills had heavy downpour and Guler in Kangra district was wettest with 215 mm rains while Hamirpur and Bhoranj received 164 mm and 158 mm rains, followed by Sundernagar 149 mm, Bangana 145 mm, Mandi 136 mm , Nagrota Suriyan 130, mm, Dharamshala 113 mm, Pandoh 104 mm, Sujanpur Tira 102 mm, Bijahi 82 mm, Joginder Nagar 61 mm, Bilaspur, Palampur and Nadaun 54 mm and Shimla 10 mm.
Landslides at several places disrupted vehicular traffic. About 250 roads were blocked in the state.

Normal life was affected in the lower hills of Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Hamirpur as massive landslides hit several places, uprooting trees and electricity poles and blocking roads.
The MeT office has predicted heavy rains in lower and mid hills tomorrow and moderate rains in the region over next three days.
