The four, including two from neighbouring Jharkhand, Johan Munda, Joseph Jarkot, Johan Purti and Sunita Munda were allegedly involved in Maoist violence in the district.
"They got disillusioned with the organisation and had decided to leave it. But they became apprehensive about their safety. With our effort, they surrendered," said Bonai Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) R Panigrahi.
Johan Munda was allegedly involved in the blasting of Gram Panchayat office and godown at Rehlhati, school buildings at Sanbalijore and Jharbeda while Jarkot and Purti were involved in the blasting of CITU office and police outpost at Kalta in past.
They were working as daily workers to earn their livelihood but fearing attempts on their lives they gave themselves up, Panigrahy said.
