Four persons, arrested in connection with the killing of a relative of former Union minister P Chidambaram, were today sent to a 15-day judicial custody by a court in neighbouring Tirupur.
Gouthaman, Vimal, Manibharathi and Murthy were arrested yesterday for allegedly abducting and killing C Sivamurthy, a Tirupur-based knitwear exporter, near Vellore.
The accused were produced before Tirupur First Class Judicial Magistrate Kaviyarasu, who remanded them to judicial custody.
The accused were lodged in the central prison here, police said.
Sivamurthy, the son-in-law of Chidambaram's sister-in-law, was abducted and killed allegedly by a three-member gang. The assailants had dumped the body in a lake.
