4 held while going to commit dacoity in a Okhla factory

Four persons, alleged to be the members of a gang of dacoits, have been arrested when they along with 5-6 others were going to loot cash in a factory in Okhla Industrial area on 'payday' following an encounter in south-east Delhi's Pul Prahaladpur area, police said today.
Yesterday, police received tip off about suspected robbers coming to commit dacoity in Pul Prahladpur area.
"Following which, the team took their positions at the designated places near Vishwa Karma Colony, MB Road. At around 11.40 PM, an informer spotted two cars whose number plates were smudged with mud to conceal its identity followed by one motorcycle," DCP (Southeast), Romil Baaniya.
One of the cars was stopped by a policeman and the occupant was asked to come out, but finding themselves trapped, the occupant of the car came out and took out a pistol and fired aiming at the cop, he said.
"Another police personnel warned the assailant to surrender but he fired at him, who also fired warning shots. The occupants of the second car also stepped out and started firing at the police party," said Baaniya.
In the meantime, the driver of a car managed to escape with the vehicle taking the advantage of a truck passing nearby, he added.
Police personnel managed caught one Krishan, who was driving another car, and another accused Goverdhan got injured in the eye while coming out the rear of the car and was arrested as well.
One of the accused, Manish, ran away after opening fires at the police party and hid himself under a car but was later arrested following the search of the area, the officer said.
There were about 5-6 other accused who manage to escape in this melee and also tried to loot a car and opened fired at the driver but the bullet hit the bonnet of the vehicle and they could not take away the car.
After which they stopped a scooter and fled on it. The other accused took advantage of the darkness and fled towards the jungle.
The four arrested accused have been identified as Manish, Sunil, Goverdhan and Krishan Kumar, the officer said, adding the teams have been formed to nab the other accused.
