4 killed, 11 injured as speeding lorry mows down passengers

Four persons were killed and 11 others injured today when a speeding lorry hit people, who had alighted from a mini-van after it developed a snag in Tirupur district, police said.
Some 25 persons were returning after attending a condolence meet when the mishap occurred at Vallikkadu, about 80 km from here.
They had got down and were waiting for some other vehicle, when the lorry mowed them down, police said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital.
