4 killed as truck hits electric pole

Four persons were killed and as many injured today in the district here when a truck overturned after hitting an electric pole, police said.
The mishap took place in Makthal town as the truck was on its way to Hyderabad from Raichur. The driver lost control at the wheel and rammed into an electric pole standing on the roadside, causing the vehicle to overturn, said Makthal Sub-Inspector Ramesh Goud.
Four persons who were travelling in the truck died while an equal number were hurt in the mishap, he said, adding that the injured were rushed to Mahabubnagar civil hospital.
The truck driver fled the scene after the mishap, he said.
