The building situated close to the famous Lord Ranganathaswamy temple was more than 50-years-old and 15 persons were engaged its renovation when all of a sudden a wall collapsed this afternoon, police said.
Four workers were killed on the spot and their bodies were recovered by Fire and Rescue Service personnel involved in removing the debris, they said, adding the deceased are yet to be identified.
Seven of the 11 injured workers, were admitted to a hospital in Srirangam while four women were treated in the outpatient department, police said.
