Four members of 'Banzara gang' were arrested for allegedly being involved in a number of loot cases, police said Friday.
The accused persons identified as Yusuf, Akbar, Shamshu and Goonga were arrested Thursday at around 11.30 pm at Rawli road, Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna.
The police have seized three country-made pistols, six live cartridges and cash worth Rs 14,000 from their possession, the SSP said.
On September 5, a labour contractor was robbed of Rs 1 lakh at gunpoint by the gang members and a woman of his family was raped by two of the five robbers in Kakda village, the police said.
Recently, the gang members had also looted a priest at gunpoint in Kakda village, the police added.
