One victim died at a hospital in Mangalore in neighbouring Karnataka while three others at the pariyaram medical college hospital today, they said.
Thirtyfive people were injured when the LPG tanker overturned and exploded after hitting a road divider at Chala on August 27. Six houses, 15 shops and some vehicles were gutted in the resulting huge fire.
Nine more persons were battling for life with severe burns at different hospitals, police said.
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, accompanied by three of his ministerial colleagues, visited the families of the deceased and expressed his condolences. He also visited the accident spot.
This was Chandy's second visit to Kannur since the mishap. Earlier he had visited the injured at the hospital and announced medical treatment at free of cost.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver, who had been absconding, surrendered before police today.
The driver told the police that he lost control of the tanker when he tried to avoid hitting a fish-ladden vehicle, police said.
