Four persons were today sentenced to three years in jail by a court in Egypt for killing a dog whose torture was captured on video.
The incident took place last week when four men appeared to stab the dog named Max several times to death on a busy Cairo street.
The video shows the dog was tied up while the men tortured him with knives and clubs.
A small crowd stood nearby and watched.
One of the convicts is the dog's owner who is a fugitive and tried in absentia.
The four were convicted under laws preventing cruelty to animals and possession of weapons.
