persons, suspected to be members of the 'Gal Ghotu' gang, and claimed to have solved several robbery cases in the national capital.
The arrested were identified as Sunit alias Lala (27), Sunny (26), Gautam (22) and Manoj (19). A knife, two cell phones, purse and Rs 1,587 in cash were seized from the accused, police said.
"On the intervening night of September 28 and 29, the four men robbed two complainants, Phool Babu and Rahul, of their wallets, mobile phones and cash. The victims chased the robbers and raised alarm.
"Acting on their call, the police patrolling staff chased and overpowered the robbers while they were trying to escape from the area," police said in a statement.
According to police, the 'Gal Ghotu' gang has a unique modus operandi to rob people. One of the members of the gang used to catch hold of a victim from back and another close eyes of the target, while rest of the members would rob the victim of his articles.
