4 sanitation workers suspended for absence during PM's visit

Four sanitation workers, who were put on special duty to maintain cleanliness at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's May 25 rally venue here, have been suspended for being absent while two others have been issued show cause notices for negligence of duty.
Sanitation workers -- Rajaram Singh, Dharajit, Kaptan, Narendra Kumar -- were put on special duty to keep Nangla Chandrabhan village clean ahead of Modi's rally but they remained absent, a District Panchayati Raj official said.
Two others -- Dashrath Singh and Ashok Kumar -- have been issued show cause notices for negligence of duty, the official said, adding, strict action would be initiated against them if they fail to give satisfactory explanation.
Modi kick-started the first of 200 rallies to mark NDA government's first anniversary at Nangla Chandrabhan village here, the birthplace of Jana Sangh ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
