Four youths were killed and two others injured when crude bombs went off in a shanty at Chanchol in Malda district tonight.
Police said while two youths died on the spot, one succumbed on way to hospital and another died during treatment.
The two injured were in critical condition and were unable to narrate the circumstances, police said.
Prima facie it appeared that the victims were closeted in a room where bombs were being made.
A police force cordoned off the hut in Goalpara locality in Chanchol as tension ran high in the village.
