40 injured as bus hits lamppost

At least 40 people were injured when a bus hit a lamp post near Satragachi in Howrah district today, police sources said.
The bus was on its way to Sealdah from Bargachia when the driver lost control over the speeding vehicle and hit the post, the sources said.
Nine of the injured have been admitted to Howarh District Hospital, they added.
Some passengers of the bus alleged that the driver lost control over the vehicle as he was trying to open a sachet of a chewing tobacco.
