40 kite-flying accidents mark Makar Sankranti in Jaipur

At least 40 persons, mostly children and youth, were today injured in kite-flying related accidents in the city on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, a hospital official said.
Of the 40 injured, seven with serious injuries were admitted to polytrauma ward of SMS hospital, its Additional Superintendent Dr Ajit Singh told PTI.
Rest of injured were discharged after first-aid and necessary treatment, he said.
No death was reported in such accidents so far, he said.
Due to awareness programme, the number of those injured in incidents related to kite-flying has come down as compared to the previous year when it touched about 100, he added.
