Allahabad was the hottest place in the state at 43.3 degrees Celsius. The state capital of Lucknow had a high of 41.6 degrees Celsius.
Sultanpur and Varanasi sweltered at 43 and 42.9 degrees Celsius. Jhansi and Basti braved a hot day at 42C.
Gorakhpur and Kanpur recorded a high of 41.8 degrees Celsius, Bareilly and Ballia 41.5, Rae Bareli 41.2, Bahraich 40.4 and Etawah 40.2C.
However, pleasant weather is in store for UP residents as the weatherman has predicted rain or thundershowers at several places across the state.
