40-year-old man beaten to death

A 40-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of villagers here after they mistook him to a thief at Dhenu Ka Purwa village, police said today.
The incident took place late last night in Maheshganj area, they said.
The body of the man, identified as Bhullar, has been sent for postmortem, the police said.
The police has lodged an FIR in this regard against unidentified villagers, they said, adding that a probe is on in the matter.
