40-year-old man rescued after stuck inside well entire night

A 40-year-old man who trapped inside a well for the entire night shouting for help was rescued today, while his friend drowned after their two wheeler plunged into a roadside well at a village near here, police said today.
Thangavel (21) and his friend Venkatesan (40), workers of silver ornaments, were returning to Andipatti on their motorcyle last night after worshipping at a temple, they said.
The duo, in a drunken state, lost their way due to darkness and fell into the open well along with their vehicle.
Thangavel who was riding the two wheeler drowned while Venkatesan managed to remain afloat and shouted for help but to no avail, police said.

Passersby in the morning informed the police and he was saved by the Fire and Rescue Service personnel, they said.
