Nearly 400 Sikh pilgrims today crossed over to Pakistan on a special train from Attari Railway station to take part in a ceremony marking the 176th death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh empire.
The Sikh devotees were led by four different Sikh organisations owing allegiance to Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee (SGPC), Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee and Bhai Mardana Yadgar Trust.
The devotees would stay in Pakistan for ten days to take part in the religious congregation in the historic fort that belonged to the Sikh emperor.
